Team Evolution Make History at the 2026 UK Championships

This weekend, Team Evolution travelled to Guildford for the 2026 UK Championships, and returned home having achieved something that has been five years in the making.

With 41 students competing, supported by our coaches, families and supporters, Evolution delivered an incredible weekend of performances to finish as the top school at the 2026 UK Championships.

The final results tell the story:

20 Gold 🥇 | 17 Silver 🥈 | 16 Bronze 🥉

But this weekend was about much more than medals.

Five Years in the Making

For Master Francis Miller, becoming the best team in the UK has been a five-year goal.

Evolution has continued to grow year after year, building not only the number of students competing but, more importantly, the depth, quality and consistency of the competition team.

There have been plenty of times when we have come close.

Last year, Evolution finished second at the UK Championships, narrowly missing out despite a fantastic performance. At the time, the goal remained clear: build the team, develop our athletes and come back stronger.

This year, that hard work paid off.

A Fantastic Start from the Black Belts

The weekend began with our Black Belts taking to the mats on day one.

They set the standard for the rest of the team, producing some outstanding performances and securing an incredible 10 Gold Medals.

That put Evolution at the top of the medal table after the first day and gave the colour belts a fantastic platform to build on.

But the job wasn't finished.

Colour Belts Step Up

Day 2 saw our Colour Belts take over, and they responded brilliantly.

Another 10 Gold Medals were secured, alongside a huge number of silver and bronze medals.

Across both days, our 41 competitors showed exactly what Team Evolution is about — hard work, preparation, resilience and supporting one another.

For some students, this was their first major UK Championships. For others, it was another step in their competitive journey.

Every single competitor played their part.

20 Golds and the Top Spot

When the final results were confirmed, Evolution had secured:

• 🥇 20 Gold Medals

• 🥈 17 Silver Medals

• 🥉 16 Bronze Medals

That meant 53 medals in total and, most importantly, Evolution finished at the top of the overall school standings.

After five years of working towards this goal, Team Evolution had done it.

Evolution Martial Arts are the 2026 UK Championships top school.

More Than a Medal Table

The result is a reflection of the work that happens every week at Evolution.

It represents the students who turn up to training, the coaches who continue to develop them, the parents who bring them to classes and competitions, and the families who travel across the country to support the team.

It represents the students who won gold, but also those who fought through tough divisions, learned from losses and continued to give everything they had.

Most importantly, it shows what can happen when a team works together towards a common goal.

The Evolution Family

A huge thank you goes to every competitor, coach, parent, family member and supporter who made this weekend possible.

Taking 41 students to a major national championship is a huge team effort, and the atmosphere created around Team Evolution throughout the weekend was something special.

We are incredibly proud of every single person who represented Evolution in Guildford.

Five years ago, becoming the best team in the UK was a goal.

This weekend, Team Evolution made it a reality.

20 Gold. 17 Silver. 16 Bronze.

One team. One goal. Evolution. 🥋🏆
