About ITF Taekwon-Do

ITF Taekwon-Do is a dynamic and traditional martial art that combines powerful techniques with mental discipline, fitness, and self-defence skills. Developed by General Choi Hong Hi, it emphasises the Five Tenets—courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control, and indomitable spirit—making it much more than a physical activity.

At Evolution Martial Arts, the expertise of our ITF Taekwon-Do instructors is unparalleled. Head Instructor Master Francis Miller, a 7th Degree Black Belt, has been a prominent figure in martial arts for decades. At just 17, Francis became the Men’s Taekwon-Do World Champion in 2000, and he added an ITF World Championship title in 2023. His extensive teaching career has seen him guide countless students from white belt to European champions. In addition to leading Evolution, Francis now serves as Head Coach of the ITF England Team and Head Coach of the Royal Navy & Royal Marines ITF Taekwon-Do Team, solidifying his reputation as one of the most respected instructors in the UK.

Katie Stone, a 3rd Degree Black Belt, is one of the most decorated female Taekwon-Do athletes in the UK. She is a National Champion across all three ITF disciplines—patterns, sparring, and special technique. A 5x European Champion and 2x World Championships runner-up, Katie was also honoured as the Overall Female Athlete in Europe at the 2025 European Championships after winning double gold. She combines her competitive success with a passion for coaching, making her an inspiring and motivating role model for students of all ages.
