Evolution Little Warriors gives children aged 4–6 a fun and structured introduction to martial arts,

Evolution Little Warriors is a specialist martial arts programme designed specifically for children aged 4–6. The syllabus combines age-appropriate martial arts training with achievable goals that help young children develop confidence, coordination, focus and discipline while having fun.
The Little Warriors syllabus has been developed and refined over more than 25 years, drawing on decades of experience teaching young children. This long-term development has created a structured programme that keeps children engaged, motivated and progressing throughout their early martial arts journey.
Little Warriors is Evolution Martial Arts' own unique syllabus, created by Head Instructor Francis Miller to provide younger children with a dedicated pathway into martial arts. The programme provides the foundations for children to develop their skills before progressing into Evolution's junior martial arts programmes and continuing their journey towards black belt and beyond.

Little Warriors are encouraged to try new things, overcome challenges and celebrate their achievements. As children see their skills improve, they develop greater confidence in their own abilities both inside and outside the training hall.
Through structured activities and martial arts training, children practise listening to instructions, concentrating on tasks and staying engaged. These valuable skills can support their development at martial arts, school and in everyday life.
Martial arts activities help young children develop balance, coordination, movement and body awareness. Our age-appropriate exercises encourage children to become more confident and capable in how they move.
Little Warriors introduces children to the importance of good behaviour, courtesy and respect for others. Through positive routines and clear expectations, students begin developing discipline and taking responsibility for their actions.
Training alongside other children gives Little Warriors opportunities to communicate, cooperate and learn together. Classes provide a friendly environment where children can make new friends and become more comfortable interacting as part of a group.

The Evolution Little Warriors programme features eight belt levels, giving children a clear and exciting pathway to follow as their martial arts skills develop. Each belt introduces new techniques, challenges and learning goals designed specifically for young students. Progressing through the belts provides a strong sense of achievement and motivation, helping Little Warriors build confidence, develop their abilities and celebrate each step of their martial arts journey.

As Little Warriors work towards their next belt, they can earn six Achievement Tags throughout their training. Each tag recognises progress in a specific physical or technical area, giving children smaller, achievable goals to work towards on their journey to the next grade.
But the programme is about more than physical skills. Each area of development is also connected to important mental and character attributes, inspired by the principles of martial arts, including courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control and indomitable spirit.
This unique approach helps Little Warriors understand that progress isn't simply about becoming better at martial arts — it's also about developing the confidence, attitude and character to succeed both inside and outside the training hall.
Rather than waiting until their next grading to celebrate success, Little Warriors have regular achievable goals throughout their training. Earning Achievement Tags and progressing through the belts provides positive recognition for their effort, helping children build confidence, motivation and pride in their achievements.

Little Warriors helps children develop much more than martial arts techniques. Through age-appropriate training, children improve their balance, coordination and movement while learning to focus, listen and follow instructions. Regular challenges and achievable goals give children opportunities to experience success, helping them build confidence, independence and belief in their own abilities as they progress.

In 2025, Evolution celebrated an incredible milestone when one of our former Little Warriors completed the journey from the Little Warriors programme into our junior programme, progressed all the way to black belt, and went on to become a European Champion in Estonia.
Their journey began just like every other Little Warrior — learning the basics, earning achievement tags and working towards their next belt. Years of consistent training, determination and progression eventually took them from their first martial arts classes to competing and winning at European Championship level.
It's a fantastic example of what the Little Warriors pathway can become. Not every child will want to compete, but every child is given the opportunity to build confidence, develop their skills, achieve their goals and discover just how far their martial arts journey could take them.
