Evolution's Junior Kickboxing programme has been designed to give young people a structured martial arts experience where they can learn, exercise, progress and enjoy being part of a team.
Students don't need any previous experience. Our instructors introduce skills progressively, helping each child build their ability and confidence at an appropriate pace.

Learning new skills and overcoming challenges gives children opportunities to experience success and develop greater belief in their abilities.

Kickboxing keeps children active through energetic training that develops stamina, strength, flexibility and overall physical fitness.

Following instructions, practising techniques and working towards goals encourages concentration, consistency and positive training habits.

Martial arts teaches children that physical skills come with responsibility, encouraging controlled behaviour and respect for training partners.

Training alongside other young people provides opportunities to build friendships, work with partners and become part of the Evolution community.

Younger students develop strong foundations through structured training that improves coordination, concentration, confidence and fundamental Kickboxing skills.

Older juniors progress into increasingly challenging training, developing stronger technique, fitness, combinations and application while working towards their individual goals.
Children benefit from knowing what they're working towards. Our structured programme provides belts, gradings and progressive technical goals, giving students regular opportunities to recognise their development.
For children who remain with Evolution as they grow, Junior Kickboxing can also provide a pathway into adult training and continued progression towards black belt.

Competition isn't required to train at Evolution.

At Evolution, the priority is helping students first develop good technique, control and confidence.
For their first class, comfortable sports clothing such as a T-shirt and jogging bottoms or shorts is ideal. Clothing should allow your child to move freely and shouldn't have anything sharp, such as exposed zips, that could cause problems during partner training.
If your child decides to join, we'll explain the appropriate Evolution uniform and equipment they will need.
Your child doesn't need to purchase boxing gloves before their first trial class. As they begin regular training, boxing gloves and other appropriate protective equipment will become part of their Kickboxing equipment.
We'll advise you on exactly what is required so there's no need to buy equipment before your child starts.
Evolution Junior Kickboxing follows a structured belt system that gives children clear goals to work towards. Students develop their Kickboxing techniques, combinations, fitness and understanding as they progress through the grades. Belts provide an important long-term goal, while each stage gives children an opportunity to recognise how much their skills have improved.
Yes. Your child can try a Junior Kickboxing class at Evolution Martial Arts Taunton before joining. It's the best way for them to meet the instructors, experience the class and see whether Kickboxing is something they enjoy. Complete beginners are welcome.
